Visgeneer discovered a strain of natural zeaxanthin producing bacteria (Olleya marilimosa VIG2317；Taiwan bacteria deposit number BCRC 910487；International bacteria deposit number CCTCC No.M201020)； and has been awarded SBIR grant (Project number:：1Z980498: Project name: A study of microbial zeaxanthin obtained from Olleya marilimosa: functional analysis and optimal production process development. Visgeneer was also awarded the patent Olleya marilimosa and its use in a method for the preparation of a composition comprising zeaxanthin（EU: EP2441433B1；UK: 2441433; Germany: 602010032421.4: Netherlands: 2441433; France: 2441433; Spain: 2583004; Italy: 2441433; Poland: 2441433）.
 
Functional analysis indicated that microbial zeaxanthin is:

1. A strong antioxidant

2. A strong free radical scavenger

3. A high-energy filter

4. A melanin formation inhibitor

5. A cancer cell proliferation inhibitor
